FAQ

FAQS: FAQ

When and where do you meet?

We meet every Sunday from 6.15pm (for a 6.30pm start) to 8.30pm at St Michael in the City Church, Upper Pitt Street.

How do I join?

To join, just come along to one of our sessions, your first two weeks are always free and if you think it's something for you, just keep coming! After your second week, we'll ask you to pay your weekly subs or set this up by standing order.

You're welcome to join at any time of the year.

Do you audition?

As a community choir, we don't audition any of our members and everyone is welcome, regardless of singing ability! All we ask is that you're willing to give it a go and learn some songs.

Do I need to know how to read music?

The short answer is... no! The slightly longer answer is that whilst we often do use sheet music, most members of the choir can't read the dots (as we like to call them) but it's useful for everyone to have the same version of the words & they can help you to know if you need to sing higher or lower.

How much are subs?

The amount we'd ask you to contribute are as follows:

  • In full time employment: £6 per week or £26 pcm

  • In part-time employment: £4 per week or £17 pcm

  • Students: £3 per week or £13 pcm

  • Unwaged: £2 per week or £8.60 pcm

We wouldn't want anyone to be put off joining due to funds, so if you're not sure you can afford the subs, you can always speak to a committee member in confidence.

Do I have to be LGBT+ to join?

Whilst we are primarily a choir for the LGBT+ community, we absolutely welcome Allies too - the more the merrier in our eyes (or should that be ears?)!
